Osteopathy
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems, through various hands-on and exercise-based approaches. It is a therapy that started in North America over 120 years ago and is now worldwide - with a lot of similarities to the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) way of thinking.
One of the many benefits of osteopathy is an osteopath’s ability to feel tension associated with a patient’s presentation. In short, Osteopaths are the people that can feel your problem. As such we are great at triaging patients and suggesting the appropriate therapy or action required.
When it comes to treatment, our Osteopath, Jordan Benjamin, has many different treatment modalities at their disposal. His treatment style investigates the causality of ailments, with the aim of preventing reoccurrence and each modality is chosen to work best for the individual patient. It is the pairing of these techniques with the patient’s individual needs that permits optimal progress and recovery. Through release, balance and the strengthening of your body, we can get you back to health.

FAQ: What is the difference between Osteopathy and Physiotherapy?
Whilst Physiotherapists often place greater focus on strength and exercises, Osteopathy more so focuses on the reduction of stress and tension to aid recovery. Think about reducing tight muscles, mobilising joints, altering blood flow and neurological control. In this way, our Osteopath can help your headaches, body pain and tension, jaw and gut dysfunctions. Tailored to the individual, treating all agres (paediatric to geriatric) and all body states (pre- and post-partum) and types.
FAQ: What insurance companies cover Osteopathy?
From what we know, Bupa Global, Cigna, Tokyo Marine (Henner), Allianz (with a doctor’s referral), and Hanse Merkur (with a doctor’s referral) insurance policies cover Osteopathy, however, there should be some others that do too, so make sure to check with your current insurance company if they do as well!
